Exclusive: SAIC's MG Motors joins Volkswagen Group's EU CO2 pool

According to exclusive reporting from the European Electric Car Report industry publication, MG Motors, which belongs to China's SAIC Motors, has joined the Volkswagen Group EU CO2 pool between 2020 - 2022 as well as the SAIC Motors Europe BV brand according to the official document published by the European Commission and obtained by this report.

VW och SAIC har faktisk haft samarbete sen 1984 för att bygga VW och Skoda bilar i Kina. Så samarbetet är inte helt nytt förutom att den har tweakas med CO2 poolen nu. Tror personligen VW vill försäkra sig mot böterna tills deras egen produktion av elbilar är fullskalig (idé. Förseningar med ID3 gör det lite mer osäkert).

Nu ska Ford vara med på ett hörn också.

On this note, Ford also wants to join forces with Volkswagen, as a group spokesperson told Bloomberg. This is in the area of light commercial vehicles. Again this move could indicate that Volkswagen indeed needs help in meeting the limits.
